21 – 22 June 2010
We were on the bus at 9.45am for departure to the Beaujolais region of France, known for their red wines (apparently?).
Our accommodation for the two nights was the impressive Chateau Beaujolais (occasionally pronounced ‘Chat-Oh’), set amid picture perfect vineyards. Our stop in the Beaujolais wine region was designed as a relaxation and recuperation stop over, however big themed parties were also schedules for each night.

Picnic Lunch
21 June 2010
The next morning we picked up our picnic baskets at 10.30am in our groups along with the bottle of wine I had purchased and we set off up the hill with our maps. The whole time we were at the Chateau we had fantastic weather so it was a beautiful walk under blue skies up the hill. It took us around an hour at our leisurely hung-over pace to reach ‘The Top of the World’ where we dug into our picnic baskets; baguettes, ham, cheese, apples, oranges, chocolate – mmm delicious!
