It was lovely to catch up with my mum in Seattle, by this time I’d been away from New Zealand for close to four months so we had a lot to catch up on; although we only had a brief time together we had fun.
One of the cool things we saw in Seattle was the man made salmon ladder, designed to recreate the natural migratory path for the salmon around the man made dam which would otherwise block the salmon from their normal migratory path.

We also enjoyed spending time together at Pike Place Market, seeing the weird ‘bubble gum wall’ and cycling along the Burt Gillman Trail.
ps its pike place market – just thought i’d tell you before someone gave you a hard time…
good to see dougs bike getting an airing!!
