South Lake Tahoe by Rental Car

08 – 09 September 2010

Having left Napa Valley we drove our rental car to Lake Tahoe, it was a bit of a drive and we arrived in the afternoon and checked into our motel. Our motel came with access to a private beach which we walked down to; the sky was overcast and the wind chilly so we didn’t venture into the lake.

That evening we went to a local brewery bar for happy hour, and then dinner; having wine tasted in Napa Valley we decided to do the beer tasting here at Lake Tahoe.

The following day we had the full day at Lake Tahoe to do as we pleased, the day presented a beautiful blue sky but the air was still brisk. We got in the car and embarked on a circumnavigation of the lake, the roads were fun to drive and offered many good lake views. Later that evening we did another beer tasting at the State Line Brewery Bar – overall we felt the other brewery bar gave a better tasting and dining experience.
