Sydney Trudge

Sydney was hard work for James and I; if you look at the photos we both look miserable, so much so that James hasn’t allowed me to post any that I took of him [He since came around]. James had had no sleep the night before and I’m just not good with early mornings.

Upon arrival we got through customs and trudged outside. The train into the city wanted to charge us AUS $25 return, holding true to the backpacking spirit we said “No f**king way” and caught the bus for AUS $5 into Bondi Junction. The bus took close to an hour, we then took a 5 min train (Another AU $5) into Sydney centre.

We trudged down the main street to the harbour, looked at the bridge, trudged to the Sydney Opera House and trudged all the way back again a few sad looking photos later. Then back on the train to Bondi, and back on the miserable long bus ride to the airport. We could have done Sydney better, our experience was a culmination of lack of sleep, forced sight seeing and backpacking stinginess. At least I didn’t lose my passport!

After downing a couple of Nurofen to combat the headache I picked up in Sydney I managed to sleep pretty well on the plane to Bangkok.
